Where it all Began!

Sheldon and I started dating in May of last year. After we had been dating for awhile and I guess you could say things were exclusive and serious. I asked Sheldon if he would like to come up with me to my families annual camping trip up to trial lake. He said yes. I was so excited. Little did Sheldon know he was not the first guy I had accompany me up at trial lake. I did not think it was important to share with him nor a problem that he didn't know. So July 23rd came around and we were leaving that day. The rest of my family was already up there. I had work and Sheldon had finals from summer semester. We had so much fun when we were up there. It seemed like Sheldon had always attended our trial lake trip but in actuality he was meeting most of my extended family for the first time. Sheldon and I took the canue out and fished. It was Sheldon's first time trolling in a boat. He absolutely loved it and had so much fun. Sheldon would be sharing a tent with my brother Zach and I was in with Mom, Dad, Nate, and Ben. When we had gone to bed that night it seemed like Sheldon and Zach were having a blast. Laughing into the wee hours of the morning. But little did I know Sheldon was experiencing one the most restless nights of his life. And what he decided would change mine forever. I came to find out that Zach had mentioned to Sheldon that in previous years others boys had been at Trial Lake. And that Sheldon had been the funnest. That hurt Sheldon to think that he was just another flavor of Trial Lake. He spent most of the night outside pondering and praying. Writing in his journal and thinking what a horrible person I was. He soon changed his mind when he decided that I had invited him up to Trial Lake because I wanted to share with him something that was so dear to me. I woke up that morning to a very tired Sheldon and very nervous about that way he acted...had he changed his mind about me? He said to me I want to steal you away and talk to you privately. We walked down to the lake shore and sat on this huge rock. Sheldon had his journal with him and opened it up to read a passage to me. He explained the kind of night he had. And told me he had reached a very serious decision that involved me. He told me that he knew that one day he would kneel across from me in the temple to be sealed for all time and eternity but he didn't realize it would be this soon. He asked me if I would be his wife...of course, I said yes! We hugged and kissed and talked about dates. It was one of the most dear, sweet, tender, exciting moments of my life. Trial Lake will forever hold a special place in my heart. We were reminded of that special day when we went back this year at the end of July. We had so much fun and enjoyed being up there as Husband and Wife!

Celebrate good times!

Mom threw me a party after we got home from Wendover. We had our own private firework show, played bacci ball, and ate Mom's delicious homemade sugar cookies just for me! Love you Mom and Dad!

Mama Needs a New pair of Shoes!

Sheldon for my 21st birthday planned a mini vacation to Wendover. He gave me a 44 oz Holiday cup full of quarters...21 dollars worth. And gave me a gift certificate to get a swedish massage there at the Montego Bay casino. We left on a Wednesday night and stayed til' Thursday afternoon. Sheldon's day off was on Thursday. We swam and chilled in the hot tub. But the best and worst part was playing the slots and losing my 21 bucks! I could never be a gambler, when I lost that money I said, "That's a new pair of shoes or a new shirt going right down the tube!" It was an adrenaline rush. But only lasted a full 5 minutes. After losing all that $$, we decided to head back up to the room. Only to get to the elevator and Sheldon did not have his wallet. Immediately my heart falls to my stomach and I instantly start to scold him. I guess this is what we get for gambling... Heavenly Father was trying to tell us something. We start to retrace our steps and found it wedged between the two chairs we were sitting in. Not funny at the time, but hilarious now. Lesson Learned. When Sheldon went to check if my reservation for the swedish massage was still a go the lady told him his name wasn't on the list and that they were booked for the entire day. Some ding bat who took his phone call didn't write it down. So we lost it. I told him I was totally fine with it. And he said I could use the money any way I would like too. So when we got home I bought me a fine olsenboye bag and a darling skirt from boden. :) I could not complain! We ended the trip with a delicious all American buffet at the Peppermill Casino. Our mini vacation was so much fun, I have a super fun and hilarious Husband. Thank you Hun for the ultimate B-day experience!

Turning 21!

This year I turned 21! It was such a fun birthday. We celebrated all month long in July. With birthday dinners, parties, gifts, and a trip to Wendover. Sheldon planned a fabulous little get-a-way and we endulged ourselves completely. Although, I had a wonderful birthday there were some definite cons to turning 21...I developed allergies, had my first sinus infection, and discovered I needed glasses. If this is only the beginning I can hardly wait to see what 22 will bring me! (Not!)

Firework Fun!

I love the 4th of July. I love the fireworks, barbecues, patriotic attire, and my birthday (July 6th.) We had lots of fun this year for the 4th. We went to the Eaglewood fireworks with Sheldon's family and this year my family came as well. It was so much fun. Gucci had a fabulous dinner at the house and then we all grabbed our chairs and blankets and headed up to the golf course for the firework show and fun.

Summer Slumber

In June, we had Missy and Alan come in to visit the family from New York. While they were here we had Lukey-Law, Addie-Dawn, and Claire- Bowie over to our house for a slumber. Shel and I were so excited to have some of our nieces and nephews over. We partied until our hearts were content. We had the kids sleep on the love sac in our room at the foot of our bed. Luke and Adessa did just grand. Little Claire ended up in between Sheldon and I. They were so sweet and so fun. They just melted my heart. I love being an Auntie!
